XIMA GALLERY is pleased to announce the inaugural exhibition ‘Moonlight Under the Sun’ at its new space ‘Deep Blue Art Centre’ on 26th October 2024, featuring 44 works by 12 contemporary Chinese artists.

No matter how the gears of time change, human society continues to grow up and grow old in the rhythm of sunrise and sunset. There is a sense of the sun and the moon, the disappearance of a certain moment in life as well as the ordinary days of each day. Under the sun, there are all the stories, above the moon, there are very different from the light of day. The light is deep, the darkness is clean, and the drape is mellow, and this light is very gorgeous and very plain. What's more, the sun and the moon shine together in a marvellous way, the sun and the moon and the stars, flowing and shining in a magnificent way.

The moonlight under the sun, this light sometimes ten thousand, sometimes small, bright and dark to see the reality and ideal. Light is the trace of divine touch on the human world, it brushes over the vivid and naughty fruits and vegetables, and sprinkles on the delicate flowers and plants, it is the wide-open and wide-open lines, and it is also the dots of fine whispers, it gives art a courageous expression, and it gives solace to the earthly life.

Deep Blue Art Centre was born in such a field. In this opening exhibition - ‘Moonlight Under the Sun’, located in the heart of Hangzhou's Qianjiang Century City, we are honoured to invite twelve of China's most influential contemporary artists to combine art, painting, sculpture and installation in the name of art, with the aim of bringing together the best of Chinese contemporary art and culture. In the name of art, combining painting, sculpture and installation, through artistic expression and scene experience, we are honoured to invite you to turn over a page of the gorgeous chapter under the moonlight, and appreciate the beauty of the mingling of different cultures and times.

Let us wander between reality and the future, trace the hidden connections between artworks, establish pathways between different cultures, seek new ways of experiencing art, and look at the world around us from a new perspective.

The universe with its unceasing desire refines a song and dance into eternity, the flame of silence slowly burns, or nirvana or reincarnation. When the sun goes down the mountain to collect the desolate remnants of its light, it burns on the other side and climbs to the top of the mountain to spread its fiery splendour.

After all, when the sun goes down, there is still moonlight.
